There are two distinct filaments for your turn signal to choose from: the 1156 base single filament or the 1157 base dual filament. A single-filament bulb is used exclusively as a blinking turn signal, but dual filaments are less one-dimensional. Dual filaments feature two bulbs (one dim, one bright) that operate as both a turn signal and a parking light.
